Ingredients

 
Cake Ingredient
Vegetable oil 60ml
Milk 80ml
Egg Yolk 5 pcs
Egg White 5 pcs
Low Gluten Flour 80g
Sugar 65g
Salt Moderate
Vanilla Essence 1 tsp.

Taro 500g
Sugar 80g

Directions

  1. Wash and cut the taro in pieces, put in the middle shelf position of Panasonic "Inverter" Steam & Grill Microwave Oven NN-CS89LB and select “Steam 1 (Maximum)” and set for 30 mins. (Fill the water tank before using the steam function);
  2. Add sugar, whipping cream and mix into taro paste, store it in the refrigerator for later use;
  3. Mix vegetable oil, milk and salt with a hand mixer, then add egg yolk and mix well;
  4. Sift in low-gluten flour and mix gently, add vanilla essence and mix well to form egg batter;
  5. Preheat the Oven by selecting “Convection” mode at 160℃;
  6. Beat the egg white with hand mixer, add in sugar in three batches until it becomes a firm peak;
  7. Mix 1/3 of the egg white mixture into the batter and fold it in gently;
  8. Mix the batter into the remaining egg white mixture and fold it in again;
  9. Put baking sheet on the bottom and four sides of the baking tray and fix it with clips;
  10. Pour the egg batter evenly into the baking tray, tap 2-3 times to eliminate bubbles and remove the clips;
  11. After preheat, put the Grill Tray into the middle shelf position of the Oven and set for 16 mins.;
  12. Take it out when finished, spread baking sheets on the cake surface and support it with a wooden board/cutting board; Turn the cake upside down carefully and tear off the bottom baking sheet;
  13. Spread baking sheets on the cake surface again and support it with a wooden board/cutting board; Turn the cake upside down carefully and tear off the top baking sheet;
  14. Cut both sides of the cake and evenly spread the taro paste over 1/3 of the cake surface;
  15. With the aid of a wooden rolling pin and a plastic scraper, roll the cake into a log shape;
  16. It tastes better after putting it in the refrigerator for 3 hours.
