Basic Batter Ingredients
Low-gluten flour (Sifted) 120 g
Sugar 30 g
Baking Powder 5 g
Cold Water 150 ml
 
Red Batter Ingredients
Pitted Jujube 20 g
Low-gluten flour (Sifted) 120 g
Sugar 30 g
Baking Powder 5 g
Cold Water 150 ml
Nature Red Powder Edible pigment some

Directions

  1. Soak pitted jujube in water.

  2. Prepare the pitted jujube paste by putting the pitted jujube and 100ml water into Panasonic High Power Blender MX-ZX1800 and select ‘Pre-programmed 3’ (Puree Menu) model.

  3. Mix the low-gluten flour, sugar and nature red powder edible pigment with rubber spatulas for the red pitted jujube batter.

  4. Mix the low-gluten flour, sugar and 100ml water with rubber spatulas for the basic batter.

  5. Mix the baking powder with 50ml water then put into both batter and gently mix with the rubber spatulas.

  6. Pour the batter into the cake mold, put into the Panasonic Steam Oven NU-SC100W, select ‘Med-Steam’ for 15 minutes.

Tips

If the baking powder didn’t bubble after mixing with water, usually the powder is unable to use. Please use another baking powder, otherwise the cake will not bloat.
